For Old Times Sake: The Freddie Jackson Story (1996)
Although there's a fair amount of duplication between this and Greatest Hits, it's not exactly a greatest hits collection, divided as it is between high-charting singles and album tracks. It's perhaps more oriented toward his lover-man outings than Greatest Hits, which remains the first choice if you only want one Freddie Jackson disc. ~ Richie Unterberger, Rovi Freddie Jackson had an amazing voice. Smooth, the kind of music couples would just chill and listen to. This CD brings back some great memories of his first albums. “You Are My Lady” served as the explosive hit that would put Freddie Jackson on the map as an elite performer in the R&B music genre. On the US Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, the song peaked at number one. ![]() Grown & Sexy is the sixth studio album by American singer Babyface. It was released by Arista Records on July 26, 2005 in the United States. Originally titled A Love Story and due to be released on March 23, 2004, its release was shelved after lead single "The Loneliness" failed to attract radio airplay/sales. The album was later reworked into Grown & Sexy with three songs ("The Loneliness", "God Must Love U", "The Getting 2 Know U") being taken from the A Love Story sessions. Grown & Sexy reached number 10 on the US Billboard 200 and number 3 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Albums. Interesting fact! University of Arizona basketball player, Harvey Mason, Jr., worked on the album! ![]() After attending the University of Arizona on a basketball scholarship from 1986 to 1990 and playing in the 1988 Final Four, Harvey began working as a songwriter/record producer. Some early work included tracks for British pop artist Michelle Gayle's album "Sensational" in 1997 and the jazz/soul duo Imprompt2. He co-produced the jazz album "Ratamacue" with his father, Harvey Mason in 1997. In addition he worked with Mason Sr.'s group Fourplay and produced the track "Sexual Healing" featuring El DeBarge in 1998. |
